For Ferrum...
The Rest of the Best are Yet to Come

With a five way tie for the conference lead, Ferrum still has to face three of the other four teams. The last three games of the season, Ferrum plays Greensboro away, LaGrange at home, and Maryville at home. Before these games, Ferrum travels to Fayetteville North Carolina this coming Saturday to take on a Methodist team that is far stronger than their record indicates.

Ferrum, while having a tough schedule the rest of the way, must only focus on Methodist. This is a very good team. This game matches Ferrum's number 1 rated rushing offense, against the number 1 rated rushing defense of the Monarchs (USA South Rankings for week 7) The match up will pit the team that is # 1 in the conference at protecting the quarterback (Ferrum), against the #1 ranked team for sacks of the quarterback.
It is important for Ferrum to establish a running game. If they can do this, they will likely open the passing routes. While pass defense may be a weakness of the Monarchs, look for them to try to exploit the Panthers pass defense also. This will be a very evenly matched game, and will likely hinge on turnovers, special teams, and time of possession.

While the road to the conference championship is littered with three teams locked in the tie with the Panthers, Ferrum must not look past Methodist. This team is very strong. and while they are not part of the tie, they easily could be, and are down, but not out of the conference running yet. Take care of business in this game...that is all you can control, and all that matters.

Go Panthers!
