There's Something Brewing Down On 40 West....
(And It's Not Just the Moonshine)

After this past Saturday's pasting of North Carolina Wesleyan, I got to thinking about what changed in that week. The difference can be explained in many ways, and depending on your perspective, anyone can pick out points that may be one or more reasons for the turn around. For me, it boils down to just four things:

1. The defense has matured and is playing really well.

2. The caliber of the quarterback and the receivers are as good as I have seen at Ferrum in a while.

3.  The offensive line has shown major improvement over the two games.

4.  The system that Coach Adams and his staff have put in place is sound, and will work. The important thing about this is that the players have bought into this system. Give this time, there will be definite improvement from week to week, and I think there is a reasonable chance to see Ferrum at 3-1 before their next road trip.

A lot of credit has to go to DC Tony Konieczka. He has the defense flying around the field, and it is really fun to watch. This will continue to evolve but remember the competition will get stronger.   Lastly, there has been a strong job of recruiting. This team is establishing a new persona for Ferrum. Give it time, and they will be looked at as a conference contender.... maybe a conference favorite.
