The Panthers are on the road to take on the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College. After a disappointing loss last week to Shenandoah, Ferrum hopes to rebound, and show better this week. The opponent is different and will attack in a different manner. Look for a lot of passing by the Tigers. Currently, the Tigers have attempted 134 passes, completing 89 for 1075 yards. With their passing game, they have scored 11 touchdowns, and so far, have not thrown an interception. While their passing game is strong, they are very capable of moving the ball on the ground. To date they have run 137 rushing plays gaining 589 yards and scoring 9 touchdowns. While they are capable of moving the ball, the Tigers defense is a bit more suspect, especially against the run. To date, opponents have gained 946 yards against H-SC, scoring 8 touchdowns. Their pass defense has given up 798 yards, but they have 4 interceptions.
Ferrum will need to take advantage of a suspect run defense and must control time of possession. The key for Ferrum is to stay the course and execute the game plan. Braxton Hughes will need to lead the team in execution through the air, and they must rely on the running game to keep the defense off balance.
This will not be an easy game, but it is not an impossible task.
Go Panthers!
Hey Allen, be real with us man! I got a honest question ok? So why did Ferrum use yesterday game to get the 2nd string QB work???? I don't get it??? I was on the 2005 team that did something. They ran and scored. The defense even back then was no good. Adams left when I came there in 2005. He went to Washington and Lee. It hard to understand that for years Ferrum does little to make this better why???
ReplyDeleteThank you for the open, honest thoughts man!
Post this we like to know!
I had a difficult time picking up the game as my internet was spotty. It was not a close game, and while I do not know when the back up QB came in, this has happened with most every game. My assessment is that since Carr is a freshman, and Hughes is a Senior, they want him to get some game experience to let him see what he could be facing next year, should he be the starter.
ReplyDeleteI Thank You, for being open with us! Its sad that Ferrum would go another year with the same run scheme expecting better results! Did read that Ron Adams moves on as AD. Good for him! I do NOT know him but for what I see from a distance he is a honest, christian person! Hopefully Ferrum will find the light soon!
ReplyDeleteThank You Allen
