Keys to Another Successful Season-
Offensive Backfield

The loss of 2 time USA South Offensive Player of the Year Marcus Mayo, may leave fans concerned as to how effective the offensive attack will be this year. While Mayo's loss is huge, I believe that the candidates there to replace him should be quite effective in that role.
Tyler Brubaker, a Franklin County native, has been listed as a quarterback, but has seen most of his action at receiver. This 5'10" 180 lb. rising Senior, brings speed and athleticism to the field no matter where he plays. Look for Brubaker to see plenty of action on the field.
Tim Reynolds is right now the heir apparent to the quarterback spot. Reynolds, a rising sophomore, showed good instincts at the quarterback position, and was very effective in running the option attack. Reynolds appeared in 8 games, and most of his success was when he ran the ball. He had 9 carries for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. He only threw 2 passes, and completed one of those for 40 yards.
I think Ferrum, while lacking experience at this position, will improve as the year goes on, and in the end, will be solid at quarterback.

Running backs are deep again this year for the Panthers. The loss of Steven Harris, Justin Donnelly, and Corey Smith will leave a few holes to fill, but the Panthers have running backs for days. The backs are headlined by Dontavious Gilbert, and Dominique Lesine. Both have had good success, and show good speed. I look for them to get the bulk of the action this year.
Ferrum's offensive backfield will be solid, but dependent on the offensive line to mature, and gel as a unit.
