Panthers Overwhelmed in Second Half
Fall to Hawks 56-21

I have nothing but the stats to go by, but its seems to me that Ferrum gave Huntingdon all they wanted.....for the first half anyway. After falling behind 14-0, Ferrum came back to tie the game , and the half ended 14-14 .
Amazingly enough, Huntingdon worked most of their offense on the ground, with both of their first half touchdowns coming via  the ground game, and five others coming the same way.  Ferrum, who has been employing the option offense, scored two of their three touchdowns through the air.

It looks as though, that while putting up a strong effort, Ferrum just got worn down, and three turnovers, (All Interceptions), all led to Huntingdon touchdowns.

There were some positives, but this was a mismatch in the second half. I did not have Ferrum picked to win, but upsets can happen. Ask Maryville, they lost to North Carolina Wesleyan today. Ask Methodist, they fell to Averett, and ask LaGrange, they beat Greensboro, but only by 2 points.
It does not get much easier as Ferrum travels to Maryville, but today's results remind me that anything's possible. Keep working Ferrum, a win will heal a lot.

Go Panthers!

  1. Positives? You have no field. The only thing worse than the coaching witnessed yesterday is the ineptness of the administration on the field completion. It appears that it is the purpose of the administration to kill the football program because they are doing a pretty good job of that between the field situations and the coaching on display at various high school fields. The high schools are probably embarrassed.
