Ferrum @ Hampden-Sydney

 The Panthers embark today on a tough task. They face a very good Hampden-Sydney team who's record may not suggest this but believe me they are not going down without a fight. Ferrum (5-1) will have to have a secondary that is prepared in all phases of the game. The Tigers tout the Number 1 quarterback in the ODAC in Tanner Bernard. Bernard is averaging 264.8 passing yards per game. He has thrown for 9 TD's, and thrown 6 interceptions. His favorite target is difficult to determine as 6 of the top 21 pass receivers in the ODAC are from H-S. I would have to say it is Braeden Bowling. Bowling has 28 receptions for 489 yards and 2 touchdowns. Running the ball, Hampden-Sydney has the number 5 running back in the conference in Kaleb Smith. Smith is averaging 59.2 yards per game. He has scored three touchdowns, and is a threat out of the backfield as a receiver as he has 19 receptions.

Ferrum will counter with the number 2 quarterback in the conference in Titus Jones. Jones is averaging 238 yards per game and has thrown for 12 touchdowns. and only 2 interceptions. His favorite target is Tmahdae Penn who is currently ranked 2nd in the conference among receivers. Penn has 26 receptions for 600 yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. On the ground Ferrum brings Zac Smiley who is currently ranked 8th in the conference. Smiley is averaging 43 yards per game and has two touchdowns. So the number 1 & 2 rated quarterbacks and the number 2 & 3 rated receivers will will square off today in Hampden-Sydney Virginia. 

Defensively, Ferrum and the Tigers are also fairly evenly matched. The tackles per game category will have conference ranked #2 Will Pickern of H-S (11.5 tpg) matching up against # 4 rated Billy Higgins (10.3 tpg)
