From my perspective, this was the Panthers best effort of the season. That may seem like an easy conclusion to draw as Ferrum made this game their first win of the season, but the consistent efforts on both sides of the ball gave Ferrum their much-needed win. This is what I saw that seemed better:
The offensive line did a far better job in all phases of the game. More time for the quarterback to throw, and bigger holes for the running backs. This led to what I think was probably Zac Smiley's best offensive production of the year. He was hard to stop Saturday.
The defense came together Saturday and was able to pick up three turnovers, and the offense converted those into touchdowns. They were also getting pressure on the quarterback. It was a great game, and Ferrum took this one to the house with a W flying in the breeze.
Keep working hard Panthers........there's a good amount of the season to go.
