Due to some technical issues, I was only able to start watching the game at halftime. To my pleasant surprise, the score was tied, 7-7. I can't say I was expecting the score I saw, and to that point I was ecstatic with what had to be a great first half effort. I was also surprised to see Josh Luckett at quarterback. This, in my opinion, turned out to be a good move. Luckett had a good day as he was 11 of 21 for 70 yards. While you can look at the score and think this was a good game, but the Generals still won by ten, look close at the stats.
I will list a few here:
1st Downs F-14 W&L-13
Passing Yds. F-70 W&L- 73
Rushing Yds. F-192 W&L-189
Total Yds. F-262 W&L-262
Punting F-5/189 W&L 5/193
Fumbles/Lost F-1/1 W&L-1/1
An all-around improved performance, that shows this was a game that Ferrum could have won. The team is continuing to improve, and I think you will see this trend magnified this coming Saturday.
Go Panthers!
