I was really thinking this would be closer. I did not realistically expect the win, but I was hoping for a stronger showing by Ferrum. There is no doubt that Bridgewater is a really good football team, but I was believing that it could be a closer game.... I was wrong. Ferrum, while showing improvement in some phases of the game, just did not have what it takes to stand up to the one-loss team.
In short, the Panthers gave up waaaaaay to many yards (666) to be able to contend. I am one who wants to try to point out the positives in a game, even in a loss, but Saturday, there was not a lot to smile about. There were some nice individual performances. To have two receivers with over 100 yards in receptions, and each having a touchdown is a definite plus. Quarterback Brayden Hawkins had 320 yards passing. That is a good day. Defensively, there is work that has to be done, against both the run and the pass, but it can't help to brood over this one. Unfortunately, the challenge is more difficult next week as Ferrum goes on the road to 8-0 #18 Randolph-Macon. It will not be easy, but all that you can do is go out there and play hard through the whistle......this is something Ferrum has done all year long.
Go Panthers!
Allen I have all the faith in Coach Adams, He’ll right this ship. Panther Proud.
